Sullivan Bay offers some of the most striking lava formations in the world, with artistic, rope-like and smooth lava flows that create a truly picturesque landscape. These unique formations resulted from eruptions between 1894 and 1906, spreading lava right to the island’s edge. The barren lava field has almost no vegetation, creating a stark contrast to the nearby pristine coral sand beach. This small beach is the starting point for one of the most stunning snorkeling experiences in the Galapagos, where you can swim over white sand and encounter an abundance of marine life, including penguins, sharks, turtles, and vibrant tropical fish. Sullivan Bay is a must-visit for both its geological beauty and rich marine wildlife.
